About me
I am Prague born, raised and educated at the turn of the 90s and 2000s, at the time when Czechia joined NATO. My memories are of how my mum’s independent small businesswoman/single-mother's career was ended by the very same change that, with her support, opened many opportunities to me and many others – the country’s accession to the EU.
She worked in customs, a service which was no longer needed. Through this experience and quite intense contacts with my family in a small town/village 100km away from Prague, I have become aware of vast cultural differences and differences in opportunities among educated urban elites with foreign experience (that I am a part of) and the majority of adults in our country.
Very often we find ourselves more European than Czech. This gives us many advantages in cooperation and know-how exchange with people across the borders, yet it also poses significant limits as the general discourse in Czechia is far more isolationist than it used to be in the years when the country struggled to integrate into the EU.
Our duty is to face this: to deliver particular subjects/campaigns on which we gain overall support for cooperation and long-term planning over particularism and fear-mongering.
My skills
- networking with great people/project partners not only from the unfortunate coalburning Czechia
- creating impactful campaigns out of virtually nothing
- motivation to get the best out of us within these ten years
- unique experience with the topic of overtourism
- placemaking skills
Why you should work with me
During the COVID measures, I used a digital-conferencing platform to outline the principal shared goal and to split the community into multiple smaller action units that might – by using the same digital platform – sketch more detailed plans on how to proceed with their part of the project puzzle. More than ever, publicity in various types of media is key to project pressure since it is mainly the journalists who are now enabled to ask questions at press conferences.
My work experiences
I am currently sharing my time between eco-social Green politics with a focus on climate policies and field social work, developing housing-first especially for families in need in Prague.
To date, my main achievements have been building up an anti-airport enlargement coalition in Prague, the EGP resolution on the urgent need for a trans-European transportation policy (TEN-T) update, and the toppling of conservative hegemony in the central district of Prague for at least one crucial year.
Since July 2020: field social worker - housing first in Prague, People in Need Foundation (part-time)
2019-early 2020: advisor to the Green Council member of the 1st district of Prague (environment, IT, waste management, playgrounds, participation, investment, public spaces, transport)
Since July 2018: part-time parental leave
Mid 2016-late 2017: regional and senate coordinator Greens Czechia 2015-mid-2016: advisor to Green and coalition deputy mayors of Prague (urban development and planning)
Late 2014: Oživení - Transparency Emergency – promotion of transparent policies in local government bodies (part-time)
2010-2014: AutoMat – from a volunteer to executive board member and speaker of a prominent Prague/Czech NGO with a focus on sustainable transport, public spaces, neighbourhood and community life, public participation (part-time)
2007-2010: Avantgarde Prague – French-speaking tour guide (part-time)
My education & training

BA International Area Studies 2006-2010
International Area Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University Prague aim to confront students with the socio-political development of the Euro-Americas space within approximately the last 250 years to help them to understand the societal context, to be able to analyse the root causes of various crises, and to consider alternative solutions, including the limitations of the context. Bachelor thesis: French reaction to the Hungarian Revolution 1956
Institut d'études politiques de Rennes, France
Political Science 2008-2009 (Erasmus)
Two semestral ERASMUS study exchanges served to further improve my French and to get as close as possible to French society and its development, including the experienced and lived crises. I also tried to analyse the systemic differences in the French approach compared to the Czech approach to solve important societal challenges.
