About me

I have a bachelor’s degree in Environment Engineering and one in Civil Engineering, and a Master of Science in Environmental Urban Management. From April 2010 until February 2013, I worked as an executive assistant and junior environment consultant at G&G Studio, a company working on environment and geo-science projects. From September 2012 to June 2014, I worked as a coordinator at JEF Albania-Young European Federalists of Europe. From January 2014 until January 2015, I was a project manager and environment specialist at the You-En (Youth and Environment) organisation. In January 2015, I founded the Build Green Group and since then have been working there as a CEO, researcher, environmental specialist and consultant.

My skills

As an events organiser, the mission of the Build Green Group team and myself is to create platforms for voices and ideas which are misrepresented and excluded by mainstream narratives. The reality is that no amount of work or money can guarantee that every person who attends your events feels included. Since you cannot control every aspect of your audience’s experience, it is better to focus your energy on identifying the barriers and challenges your event might introduce then work on ways to dismantle them. This is how we ensure our events are impactful and inclusive.

I have facilitated many national (and a few international) environmental and climate-change-related meetings, training sessions, workshops, conferences and panel discussions, mainly as a moderator and facilitator although I started as a trainer. I am very thoughtful when selecting the style of facilitation I use, depending mainly on the group’s level of knowledge, then their age range and the programme goal. I use both direct and indirect facilitation styles depending on the aim of the training/event. I also have experience in event organising which, once again, is tailor-made according to each groups’ knowledge needs. My experience includes training and workshops on climate change mitigation and adaptation, the importance and use of native plants, environmental problems in a global and national context, eco-tourism and sustainable tourism practices, green entrepreneurship and green jobs, urban farm practices, etc. My modules are tailor-made and always changing, depending on variables such as the age of the audience, programme goal, audience knowledge and interests and, of course,  latest developments in the topic discussed. This is why I always draw up a pre-event questionnaire/interview to get more information about my audience. A constant in my work is the international level on which I always base my model on European standards and Directives, the Western Balkans viewpoint and, more importantly, Albanian contexts.
