Christian Kmiotek

About me

Past co-president of the Luxembourgish Greens (2013-2020) and still active in the European Greens. Through two coalition government negotiations and several election campaigns I participated in the successful development of my party, both at the electoral and membership levels. My focus was on internal cohesion, coordinating the information flow between our ministers, MPs and the member base, plus external communication.

As I have a background in teaching, I am able to both consult and train organisations and individuals on strategic issues and their implementation, on marketing, on personal and online communication, and on organisational development.

Coming from a pedagogical background, I have an extensive track record in teaching special and social pedagogics at the University of Luxembourg and at Luxembourg’s high school for educational and social professions.

In parallel, I have devoted over 25 years of my professional career to the development of a Luxembourgish cultural industry, focusing on theatre and especially film. Combining the worlds of culture and pedagogics, I have successfully run several Europe-wide programmes for the continuous training of film professionals, focusing on economics, financing and marketing.

Currently, I am advising Luxembourgish public authorities and the European Commission on educational and cultural issues.

• In charge of financial matters at ‘EAVE - European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs’, a non-profit organisation offering continuous training to film producers and bringing together producers from different regions of the world with the aim of facilitating co-production relationships, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme - www.eave.org

• Advising the Green European Foundation on accounting and conversion to IFRS standards - www.gef.eu

• Lecturing at L.T.P.E.S. Luxembourg’s only high school for educational and social professions - www.ltpes.lu -expert to Ministry of Education

• Acting as treasurer for the non-profit organisation ‘Luxembourgish Federation of the Scenic Arts’ - www.theater.lu
