Albert Eckert

About me

I'm a senior consultant, facilitator, mediator and trainer in the field of organisational development with a focus on leadership, strategy, policy advisory, institutional capacity building and team management.

I have facilitated numerous international development-related meetings, trainings, workshops, conferences and panel discussions as moderator and facilitator. I have worked in team-development processes in teams of different sizes, different hierarchical levels and different regional settings.

My background is politics and my main occupational fields are Organisational Development, Facilitation, Mediation, Coaching and Political Consulting.

After graduating in Political Sciences I was a Member of the Berlin House of Representatives (1989- 1995), of which I was vice-president temporarily. My main fields of work were legal and cultural policy. From 1997 to 2005, I headed the Public Relations Department of the Heinrich Böll Foundation, interrupted only by a guest performance of several months as vice spokesperson of the Berlin Government.

I'm fluent in my mother tongue German as well as English - a bit less in French.

My work experiences

For Green Parties, I've been working on campaign trainings, team workshops, coachings for political candidates and - behind the scenes - on mediation in difficult situations.

I am working nationally and internationally – e.g. in Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Kosovo, Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Morocco, Nigeria, Poland, Senegal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda.

My education & training

I graduated in Political Science (in Berlin), but also studied Psychology, Philosophy and German Literature (in Tübingen and Berlin).

I am a certified mediator (BAFM), organisational development consultant (denkmodell), diversity trainer (Eine Welt der Vielfalt) and have some experience in body therapy and Continuum Movement.

In 2012, I was awarded the German Federal Cross of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz) for working as a volunteer in civil society.
